Exciting professional conference from East Midlands Napo

Napo’s East Midlands Branch want to let NM readers know about an exciting professional conference they are planning at Quorn Grange Hotel on Friday 8th June.

The conference entitled “Four years on – Professional values in Probation will be examining professional practice and service delivery since the TR division of services into the NPS and CRCs. It will also look at how we can work towards a more collaborative approach between NPS/CRC and their employees, as well as with each other.

It will be a chance to hear about innovative and inspiring practice examples and services from a range of exciting, high profile, speakers including:

  • Professor Paul Senior – Chair of the Probation institute
  • Helen Mercer – Deputy Chief Inspector of Probation
  • Ian Lawrence, Napo General Secretary
  • Sarah Winwin Sein and Isobel Cartledge of De Montfort University
  • Darren “Loki” McGarvey – an inspirational speaker and author who has used rap and performance to motivate and engage young people
  • Alex Norris MP for Nottingham East

Plus speakers from “Mixed foundations” an innovative Nottingham based project working with Inner city young people and senior representatives from both NPS and CRC

The event is free for all staff but with priority for Napo members.

NPS and CRC staff have been granted a professional development day in order to allow them to attend. Lunch and all refreshments are provided.
