On Sat 7 July hundreds of anti fascists and anti racists gathered and marched in Leeds city centre hugely outnumbering a gathering of so called ‘Yorkshire Patriots’.
Tommy Robinson was recently imprisoned at Leeds crown for contempt of court and a number of his ‘supporters’ planned to protest his imprisonment in our City.
The rally was organised by leeds stand up to Racism and Yorkshire & Humber TUC. Members of West Yorkshire Napo were proud to support this event and be in attendance.Speakers at the event included MP Hillary Ben and Shadow Justice Secretary Richard Burgeon who spoke of Leeds great history of fighting fascism, racism and hate.
West Yorkshire Napo’s Ann Cruse Stoddard gave a rousing speech to the several hundreds gathered below the steps of Leeds Town Hall.
West Yorkshire NAPO members then joined the march and proudly displayed the branch NAPO banner through the streets of Leeds.
