Still just a bit of banter! Changing the status quo.

The TUC is set to launch a campaign focussing on sexual harassment in the workplace. The campaign, which will be run over the summer will call for the:

The introduction of a new legal duty to prevent harassment;

  • A statutory code of practice on sexual harassment and harassment at work;
  • The strengthening of legislation to tackle third part harassment – where, for example, workers suffer harassment from clients and service users.
  • The campaign will start next month with the launch of an online petition on 3rd July.

The TUC will then run a consultation on the issue from the end of July until September and supporters of the campaign will be asked to write to their MPs.

Finally, the petition will be handed in at a parliamentary lobbying event at the end of September.

We will be keeping you informed of what you can do to support the campaign over the coming weeks and months.

Napo will also be running a member survey on the issue of third party harassment and we will be asking you for your experiences and views so that we can in turn brief MPs in the Justice Unions and Family Court Unions Parliamentary Group.
