The final programme for this year’s AGM (11th and 12th October, St David’s Hall, Cardiff) is currently on the press. The programme and other AGM documentation will be on it’s way to attendees in the week commencing 23rd September.
This year’s probation professional session will feature a panel discussion on the future direction of the Probation Service with panellists Amy Rees, interim Director General of Probation in Wales; Chief Inspector of Probation, Justin Russell; Professor Mike Nellis, Strathclyde University; and Napo National Chair, Katie Lomas. Meanwhile, the Family Court Section professional session will focus on ACEs (adverse childhood experiences) from both a family court annd probation angle, with speakers Siobhan Forman, Napo National Vice Chair; Lord Fred Ponsonby, Co-Chair of the JUFCPG; and a survivor of ACE and author of ‘ACE in the Shadows’.
Later on the Friday afternoon we also have Shadow Justice Minister, Richard Burgon, as a keynote speaker.
This year also sees a record number of lunchtime and early evening fringe meetings. And we will have live entertainment on the Friday evening with funk, blues, rock band Hump de Bump (back by popular demand).
