March with Napo: New deal for probation and family courts

Simeon Andrews a valued comrade sadly missed

It is with great sadness that we report the death of Simeon Andrews, a valued comrade of Napo. Simeon died suddenly on 27 February and the news came as a great shock to all who knew and worked with him.

time a couple of years ago when he took on the hard task of standing in for John McDonnell MP, and delivered the “parliamentary update” with his customary passion for his socialist values and an abundance of good humour.

His work through Union Services and the parliamentary groups and TUCG helped bring sister unions together in common cause and highlight the many social injustices that he campaigned so hard for.

Simeon’s loss will be deeply felt by his family, who he cared so deeply about, and by the wider labour and trade union movement. I and the National Co-Chairs have written to his partner Kathy and daughter Lily expressing our deepest sympathy. Napo has also offered full support to the Union Services Team to ensure that Simeon’s legacy continues.
