TUC conferences coming up

Napo is currently seeking nominations from branches for members to attend the TUC Disabled Workers Conference and the TUC LGBT+ conferences as speaking delegates.

TUC Disabled Workers’ Conference
Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd May
Bournemouth international centre

TUC LGBT+ Conference
Thursday 4th and Friday 5th July
TUC Congress House, London

As well as the full TUC congress, where all affiliated unions send delegates to debate and decide TUC policy, the TUC also holds conferences specifically to discuss issues of concern and importance to different diversity groups including disabled workers and LGBT+ workers. Napo is entitled to two speaking delegates and the invitation is now with branches to submit nominations.

In her report from last year’s Disabled Workers Conference (CLICK HERE TO READ) Katie Lomas, National Chair, said “This conference is inspiring and motivating. if you are a member with a disability why not put yourself forward for the 2019 conference?”

If you are interested in attending the either of these conferences why not consider putting yourself forward. You will need to contact your branch for a nomination form. The deadline for nominations is Monday 4th March.

For more information on the conference contact either Ranjit Singh rsingh@napo.org.uk or Annoesjka Valent avalent@napo.org.uk or ring on 020 87223 4887.

Napo will meet the travel expenses of those on the delegation and provide hotel accommodation and a subsistence allowance during the conference. The conference provides crèche facilities and also facilities for disabled people.
