Women’s Occupational Health – One-day seminar Thursday 22 November

Following the success of last year’s Napo Women’s Occupational Health event, National Official, Sarah Friday will be running another one-day seminar on Thursday, 22 November  (Venue – PCS Building next door to Clapham Junction Railway Station in London).

Family Court Section members particularly welcome

Over 30 women from all over the country attended last year’s seminar and there was an excellent balance from all sections of probation but sadly – although the event was not probation specific – no one from the Family Court Section. We hope this can be rectified this year and FCS members should know you are especially welcome.

Confirmed speakers for the event include:

  • Professor Myra Hunter and Doctor Claire Hardy Professor from Kings College London on results from survey of Napo women’s health and safety at work which focused on women’s premenstrual experiences and the menopause at work
  • Andrea Oates, freelance journalist, author of Labour Research Department booklet ‘Women’s health and safety at work’. Speaking on a recent booklet she has written on Women’s health and safety at work.
  • Susan Murray, former Unite the union health and safety specialist, Ruskin tutor – Speaking on how to manage stress at work.

You can get a flavour of what the seminar will be like from the report of last year’s event.

The event is open to all women Napo members. Tea and coffee will be provided, but all other expenses, including travel must be covered by member’s branch/section.

If you, or someone from your branch, wants to attend please contact Shireena Suleman on ssuleman@napo.org.uk.

If more members want to attend than the room can hold we will give priority to those who did not attend the event last year.
